July 10, 2024

The executive has previously spent a tenure at Landmark Dividend where he completed over US$3 billion in total transaction volume.

US data centre developer CleanArc Data Centers LLC has named Neil Sherlock as Senior Vice President of Finance.

The company said Sherlock will add a wealth of experience in commercial real estate finance and capital markets as the group continues to build its footprint.

As a member of the senior leadership team, Sherlock has been tasked with collaborating with other executives to facilitate project growth, from land acquisition to development, ensuring precision in meeting CleanArc’s financial goals.

His responsibilities will also include managing board-level communications, financial reporting, and governance.

Prior to joining CleanArc, Sherlock served as Vice President of Finance & Capital Markets at investment manager Landmark Dividend which focuses on mission-critical telecommunications, digital infrastructure, and real estate.

During his tenure at Landmark, he completed over US$3 billion in total transaction volume.

Prior to that, Sherlock served as Senior Director of Commercial Capital Markets at Ygrene Energy Fund, where he spearheaded efforts to grow and diversify access to various capital channels as well as to expand the company’s national lending platform.

Commenting on the appointment, James Trout, Founder and CEO of CleanArc, said: “Neil has a deep background in three core areas that make him the perfect fit for CleanArc: commercial real estate financing, digital infrastructure, and capital raising strategies.”

Speaking on his new role, Sherlock said: “CleanArc’s unique approach is solving one of the industry’s biggest challenges: delivering on the increasing need for hyperscale capacity while creating new green energy sources to advance sustainability.

“I am thrilled to be part of this innovative effort, alongside an incredible team of veteran industry experts.”

Sherlock’s appointment comes one month after the group named Ashlie Alaman as Senior Vice President of Legal and General Counsel for the business.

She was previously at CyrusOne where she focused on domestic and international real estate and construction. Most recently, Alaman served as Associate General Counsel at Marathon Digital Holdings, a digital currency miner and data center operator.

Launched in January 2023 and backed by 547 Energy, the global clean energy investment platform of Quantum Capital Partners, and founded by industry veteran James Trout, CleanArc has recruited an executive team who have designed, managed, or built 2 gigawatts of data centre facilities.
