HOUSTON, Texas — June 10, 2024 — CleanArc, a developer and operator of sustainability-focused hyperscale data center campuses, announces the appointment of Ashlie Alaman as Senior Vice President of Legal and General Counsel.

The newest member of CleanArc’s expanding executive team, Alaman brings a diverse wealth of knowledge and experience in environmental, energy, and real estate law, having worked in a variety of roles, including in private equity.

“We’re very happy to have an accomplished professional of Ashlie’s caliber assume this key role at CleanArc,” said James Trout, Founder and CEO of CleanArc. “With her strong background in land use, regulatory compliance, and environmental law, she will be a major asset as we advance CleanArc’s innovative hyperscale development solution.” CleanArc has assembled the critical components — development at campus-scale, renewable energy structuring for carbon offset goals, and “data center production” via creative offsite manufacturing partnerships — into a turn-key solution for hyperscalers seeking to expand quickly, sustainably, and cost-effectively.

“It’s exciting to be a part of CleanArc as it develops this first-of-its-kind hyperscale development solution,” she said. “CleanArc is addressing hyperscalers’ real need for greater data center capacity while at the same time advancing their carbon neutrality goals.”

Alaman started her career at Bracewell LLP, a Houston-based private practice, as an environmental attorney specializing in energy, real estate, and technology. From there, she transitioned to Vistra Energy, a Fortune 500 integrated retail electricity and power generation company, where she advised on a myriad of issues including land use, regulatory compliance, and environmental impacts to land and water.

After six years, she moved to CyrusOne, a leading global data center developer and operator, where she focused on domestic and international real estate and construction. Most recently, Alaman served as Associate General Counsel at Marathon Digital Holdings, a digital currency miner and data center operator.

Alaman has earned a host of awards, such as Corporate (In-House) Pro Bono Attorney of the Year from the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and Legal Aid of North Texas in 2014, Outstanding Community Service – Corporate Counsel of the Year by ACC and D-CEO in 2016, and Outstanding Corporate Attorney of the Year by the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program in 2016. She’s a member of the inaugural class of Dallas Bar Association’s WE LEAD, a program designed to address the unique challenges facing women in the legal profession.
